Portland Loop Challenge – Half Marathon

6th June 2026

IIntroduction

Take on a rugged half marathon around the Isle of Portland as part of an Epic Endurance event day on the Jurassic Coast.

The Portland Loop Challenge is designed for runners who want a tough but achievable coastal challenge. Covering 13.1 miles around Portland, the route takes in dramatic sea views, exposed clifftop sections and constantly changing terrain.

This is not a road half marathon built for PBs. It is a proper endurance-style half marathon with a raw coastal feel, ideal for runners who enjoy a challenge and want to be part of a unique event atmosphere.

With Event HQ based on Portland and The Oner taking place on the same day, the whole day will have a real endurance event feel from start to finish.

Terrain

The Portland Loop Challenge takes runners on a tough and scenic half marathon around the Isle of Portland. Expect coastal paths, exposed sections, road, tracks and rolling terrain throughout. Portland is known for its rugged coastline, big views and constant changes underfoot, making this a proper challenge rather than a fast, flat half marathon.

Event HQ

The Event HQ will be based at Portland Masonic Hall, 1 Victoria Square, Portland, Dorset, DT5 1AL. This will act as registration, briefing point, finish area and reception. It will also be the place for runners to ask questions, collect information and relax after finishing. This is the same HQ format you use on JCC.
